The E-Type debuted in 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show as a Fixed Head Coupe (FHC) and chassis 885005 was the first car shown to the press and public.

The Ford GT race car will compete in the LM GTE Pro class of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race in 2016, and will run the full 2016 schedules of the FIA World Endurance Championship and TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.
